Went to get the camera down off the top of the bookshelf today, to take some pictures for a post I’m about to write, and discovered that apparently, the very top of the 6′ bookshelf is not out-of-reach for Goats, after all…

Is it just me, or does she look quite surprised at herself...?

I have no idea when she took this (although it must have been quite humid that day – LOOK at those curls!), or even how she knows enough about the camera to have done it. And I have a feeling that all of this Mama cluelessness is just starting. She’s three, for pete’s sake, and to date she has managed: to learn how to leave the house unescorted (although *fingers crossed* we think we have nipped that in the bud for now), to pillage the junk food shelf of the pantry, and to operate a magic marker cartel in her preschool (at least, that’s our story. I can’t figure out how else she gets her hands on markers as often as she does, even though I have repeatedly purged the house of them.) I cannot bear to imagine what the teen years are going to be like at this rate.

Hehehe. Awesome.

My husband pulled just about every trick in the book, while I pulled none. I’m hoping his instincts work the other way, too.

Thank goodness we hide the cameras under lock and key! Lord knows what the Little Imp might end up taking a picture of…probably boogers!

BTW, she is TOO CUTE! Ninja Goat or not, I just wanna squeeze her.

Oh and as for the Marker Cartel, lovely huh? Imp has started a New England cartel and I’ll be damned if I know who is smuggling in her markers.

She is adorable, but you shouldn’t allow her adorable nature to betray what lurks ahead of you in your future if she’s doing all this now!

Heh…but I could TOTALLY understand if you find it impossible!

Because red-curly-headed blue-eyed girls are GENIUSES. Totally. Mine is almost six and has been outsmarting me for YEARS. Good luck.

I told you she is a mountain goat! I have a whole set of self-portraits of Niecey from her visit, I am saving them for a writer’s block spell. I must say she is really good at taking her own picture, the goat and Niecey both! I believe the children born into this century have an innate ability to mind meld with technology that has not been seen in previous generations.
