Sorry, too busy running all the time and eating ALL THE CARBS.  Throw in two little league players, one of whom is taking two dance classes (and therefore has two parts in the upcoming recital), and it’s almost not doable. Toss the puppy in the mix, and the boss who’s getting ready for trial, and well, I can barely hold my head up long enough to post this using my iPod.

But I swear I’m still back. Just…T minus 16 days until the race. Then I sorta get my life back.  Or at least a yoga class.

*tu vois ce que j’ai fait la? Je m’amuse toujours 🙂

T minus 19 days

T minus 18 days, 19 hours, 44 minutes

I want to write, but I don’t have anything resembling a coherent post.  It’s all a jumbled bunch of crazy that I don’t even have time to flesh out into something comprehensible, let alone meaningful. (Which is not to say that I think I usually produce these fantastic universal nuggets of truth. I only mean that, usually, what I write has some meaning TO ME.  And what you’re about to see isn’t even going to be “laundry list” so much as “laundry pile.”  Well, forewarned is forearmed, or so I hear.  Onward!)

I’m just…yeah.  Still that.  Whatever it is. Continue reading

Unrelenting stress is not unlike writer’s block.

Has the same damn result, anyway.

Liveblogging: Goat-free Hour #26

Woke up from a dead sleep in a panic at 6:30 this morning.  Wracked my fuzzy brain trying to figure out exactly what was wrong and finally realized it was too darn quiet.  Which set off another alarm until I remembered that the kids weren’t up to mischief, they simply weren’t here.

Watched the end of a bad Freddie Prinze, Jr./Jessica Biel movie. Continue reading

A friend of mine reminded me today that I have “glorious children.”  I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but I don’t remember to look at them that way as often as I should.  I do know it; I just take it for granted sometimes and it takes something major to bring me back around.  Today, something pretty major happened.

About 4 months ago, I started applying to graduate school.  Today, I got word from the Chair of the Public Administration program that I was “accepted without conditions.”  I have no idea what sort of conditions there could be, but I apparently don’t need to fret about them anyway.  So even though I am a world-class worrywart, I’m not going to.  I have plenty of other things to obsess about!  Namely: Continue reading
