Remember I said I had pictures that would help explain the start corral hilarity?

So. That race I was so busy preparing for that I didn’t have time to blog? Yeah, it’s over. Thank goodness.

Turns out –  I’m still slow, but not as slow as last year.* And I wasn’t completely broken when it was over, either. AND I was able to keep moving all day Saturday.  AND yesterday. And I even did my recovery run yesterday. Two sloooooow miles.  And I felt like crap the entire time, but I did them, so yea, me. Continue reading

Sorry, too busy running all the time and eating ALL THE CARBS.  Throw in two little league players, one of whom is taking two dance classes (and therefore has two parts in the upcoming recital), and it’s almost not doable. Toss the puppy in the mix, and the boss who’s getting ready for trial, and well, I can barely hold my head up long enough to post this using my iPod.

But I swear I’m still back. Just…T minus 16 days until the race. Then I sorta get my life back.  Or at least a yoga class.

It’s a complete cliche, but when I turned 40, I did a quick inventory, and thought “THIS? THIS IS IT?”   Middle-aged, stuck in middle America, and so middle-of-the-road average that I barely recognized myself? Continue reading

I never came back and told y’all how I did in that little (ha, ha, hahaha) race I ran last year, did I?

Well, I finished.* Seriously, that’s the best spin I can put on it. And really, the extent of what I have to say about it.  Oh, wait. I did do a sorta summary of it for my little sister (the REAL runner of the family) (she’s like YOUNG and shit, though, so it’s totally unfair) when I got home. Here — I shall share: Continue reading
